This event is the first in a series of lectures and workshops by the Malta International Photo Award, with the aim of providing photographers with a deep insight into this profession.

 

In this lecture, Prof. Arne Hodalič will delve into his personal experience and approach towards capturing photographs that fit within the world of National Geographic.

 

By recounting past expeditions and assignments across numerous countries, Arne hopes to inspire both budding and established photographers to push beyond their limits.

Who is Arne Hodalič?

 

Prof. Arne Hodalič is a seasoned photographer with over four decades of experience, with his work being featured in several renowned publications including National Geographic Magazine, Life (USA), Time, Marie Claire, Nature, Die Zeit, Figaro Magazine, and many others.

In 2008 he received an honorary doctorate in Visual Arts at the Academy of Arts and Design / University of Ljubljana and became a lecturer in Photography and photojournalism at FDV (Faculty of Social Sciences) University of Ljubljana and at VIST (Visoka šola za storitve) in Ljubljana. He is currently the photo editor of National Geographic Magazine Slovene Edition.

 

This public lecture will be Arne's first time addressing the public in Malta.
